Go for a walk with your dog

Ruissalo Island is famous for its magnificent oak forests and coastal nature trails – and they’re a delight for man’s best friend too. The area boasts over 20 kilometres of marked nature trails, offering plenty to sniff and explore. Please remember that Ruissalo is a Natura nature conservation area, so dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

There are also activities specifically for dogs. Ruissalo’s only dog park, Vikkelä, is located at the neighbouring Saaronniemi campsite, next to the mini-golf course. The park is divided into separate areas for large and small dogs.

Near the Saaronniemi campsite, there is also a fenced-off swimming area for dogs, where your four-legged friends can take a dip with permission. Please remember to be considerate of other people and dogs at the swimming area.
